Gun Cammo
So are any of you big fans of using cammo on your gun? Do you incourage/discourage it? Give me your thoughts on it.
Thanks |
RE: Gun Cammo
my thoughts on it are...its nice...but not needed..but i would never go into the turkey woods with anything that shines or reflects light...my old gun was a mossberg 500 i painted the stock matte black and the metal is parkerized or something like it..and its a dull black...i never got busted....but its a bit nicer to have camo just knowing it will never distinguish that your not part of the woods if u look like a pile of leaves all over..my gun now has a como stock but the metal is flat black....

RE: Gun Cammo
I prefer it. Is it a have to, nope. Lot's of turkeys have been taken with nice pretty shiny guns along with old shiny guns But I figure it helps a little and with turkey hunting, every little thing helps I also like the fact that I'm not as "babying" with the camo gun, compared to a nice shiny one.

RE: Gun Cammo
I use gun & bow tape. It's cheap and I figure it's just one less thing to worry about. If my gun was matt black & parkerized like mauser06's, I might think twice about using the tape.

RE: Gun Cammo
My gun has a factory camo finish on it.If your wearing camo from the top of your head down to your boots a camoed,or matte, finished gun just makes sense. You don't want a gun with any shine on it because if the sun flashes of the guns surface when you shift positions on a bird,it more then likely will cost you a bird!
