Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Illnois 2nd season

I have just sent in my Turkey Permit Application (for Illinois) this morning I am sure I am too late for 1st season is it even worth it if you get anything but 1st season, I mean is it like deer hunting the 1st season is real good and the 2nd season is a little worse and so on.

Bucky, anytime you can turkey hunt is a great time.Later in the season can be a great time to hunt. When the hens start nesting the gobblers get lonely.

bucky actually the first couple of seasons here can be tough because it's still abit early I usually shoot for the time frame that falls about the third season. the birds are really getting started then and the last 2 seasons the hens are leaving the gobblers to nest so mid morn can be good the birds get a bit smarter a little later but that's where the fun is

my experience is that the later seasons the birds are quite. all my success has come in 1st and 2nd season. lare year late season had birds gobbling in the roost and quite on the ground. I did kill one the last day of 5th. I knew where they went to roost the night before and the only area that was not flooded was a field that i set up on. they came in the field at 6:30 and my friend and i kill three brids out of the group of 8 at 8:30. it took two hours before they decided to come to our calling. btw they never gobbled.
