Let's get this thing started. Could everyone "sign in" so we know that we have everybody. Let's get to know each othera little bit so we aren't complete strangers when we are chatting back and forth on here. Oh yeah, I forgot. I will be hunting Oct.1 through Dec. 31 with a few breaks in the season here and there for deer season.

Beehunter here, I will be hunting Indiana fall season starting Oct 1st to Oct 21st, bow only. My dads property has alot of activity on it already, lets all stay in touch thru this contest. Let the hunt begin.

Hey everyone Sam from PA signing in! I dont know how good of luck I will have this year because the land I was planning on hunting on just got restricted. But the fields below that piece of woods are still good and that is where the turkeys are always seen.

I dont care who's captain so I'll go with whoever yall pick. I would say you would be a good capt Pheasants...but it is up to you. For a team name I like the following....

Bluegunner checking in, hunting Minnesota 10/24 -10/28. Not a long season but it's what they give us. Have no preference to name or team leader. What ever the rest of you want is fine with me!

Well,is it ok if I go ahead and assume the role of captain??? I have had 2 votes, but no one else has any votes and no one else has suggested anyone else for captain. And we have 2 votes for 2 differentnames. Should I just flip a coin and see which name wins????

Hello team. I am proud to be aboard and look forward to hunting with you.
My season has already started and was out last night with my 5 year old trying to get one with the bow and a 5 year old and a camera man was quite the challenge. We chased them up but the 5 year old wanted to practice calling with a mouth call so the birds didn't come in. It was one of the most pleasurable times out hunting though and was his first time in the woods.

Anyway, I hope that you can help put us on the board!!! You must have a really early turkey season. Ours here is KS doesn't start until Oct. 15.

Just checking in to say saw a flock of about 24 birds in the lower hay field. Should be able to bag one this season! And hens count for something in this contest right?

Sweet!!:) Hope you can get one this year. I haven't really been scouting this summer for turkeys. I have been focusing on dove hunting and deer scouting. But, around here, you can basically go out and find a flock in the field and then sneak up on them later. There are too many turkeys around here. Sometimes hunting them around hereis as easy as falling off a log and sometimes you can't get on a turkey to save your life.

I am going tomorrow morning with my 5 year old son to see if we can bag one. I hope you guys don't mind if I shoot a hen. I told him we would shoot the first one we get a shot at since it was his first experience hunting in the woods. I would love to hold out for a 28 pound tom with a 12 inch beard but it is more important to me to have him grow up and enjoy hunting and success always helps with that.

That is no problem at all. If that is what it takes to get your son to be a lifelong hunter, by all means do it. We need more kids in this country to start hunting.

Anyone been seeing any big toms that they are going after this year?? I personally won't be able to hunt as much as I would like for the first few weeks of turkey season because I am working for a guy here for fall harvest, but our season goes clear into December, so I will have plenty of time to get one.

It has been a challenge getting one wiht a 5 year old. We are going to have to sit in a ground blind for a while. We have seen plenty of birds but he always wants to call and I can't say no and scares them away.
Hopefully I get get one in before he gets too carried away with the calling this week.

Betterbe careful. Before long, he will be callng all kinds of birds in and you won't know what oneto shoot at!!!:D

Even worse, he will be hunting 300 yards from you and he will call all the big toms away from you!!![8D];)

Just be glad that youhave a son that loves to hunt with you. Hopefully he will continue to hunt through his entire life and help us preserve the hutnting rights taht are getting more and more scarce every year.

Here I am sitting here waiting for Oct. 15 and I get om the KDWP website to double check, and our fall turkey season started on Oct. 1!!!!!!! Some hunter I am, not even knowing when hunting season starts!![&:]:)

I don't even have tags or shells yet. I am going to have to pick up a paycheck and go spend some money.:)And work around milo harvest.

It is really starting to cool off here. Our fall season goes from Oct.1-Nov.27, Dec.10-31 and Jan. 7-31, so I have plenty of time to hunt. I will be cutting milo until theend of Oct. and thenI start working for an outfitter in Nov. for pheasant season but will definitely find time toturkey hunt.:)

I am hoping to get out again tomorrow with my son. I know I can go whack one any day so I want to try to bag one with him with. I am definately glad it is cooling down a little now.
I will have to take pictures of us and post them it is fun though. He loves the diaphram call. Lots of churps.

Sorry Guys & Gals, no bird this fall. We get four days in Mn. could only hunt one of the four because of business. Could have shot one Tom but would have had to break the law to do it, he was in the ditch ready to cross the fence, I was in my car. I don't work that way, so I'm zero this Fall.
