i have a rem super mag 870
i shoot 3 1/2 inch #6, and it will pepper the target at 30 yds.
i am going to try #5 this year and see how that does.
go to the range and shoot different loads, at different distances, and see how you gun performs.

MY 11-87 likes the 4x6's to but the 11-87 my son shoots likes Rem. premier 5's best same model gun same Rem. x-full choke tube figure that one out and i patterned 4 or 5 differnt loads and makers from each gun???

My 870 with a Kicks .660 didn't like the mixed bags....It did enjoy the Win HV #5's but the turkeys didn't.

Last season I bagged a hen at 45 yards with an 870 using 3 inch number 2 shot. I wouldn't recommend shooting that far. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have a Rem. 870 21 inch barrel 3 inch mag This formula works for me - Mad Max Choke - 6 shot Feds Lethal to any Turkey between 0-40 yards - Prey and Spray!!!

I shoot the fed's turkey mags in #5 thru my rem1100 she patterns well with those shells
