Yeah, if I were a cattle farmer and something, whether it were Bald Eagles, Coyotes etc...were killing my source of income I would have no problem what-so-ever killing it. Remember, just because Bald Eagles are our nations symbol, doesn't diminish the fact that they're scavengers and are very opportunistic.

thats what i was thinking....when i first started working where i do i was told if i find a dead bald eagle, just to look the other way because of all of the paperwork involved, i freaked....but he isnt there anymore....i never did, i have found 2, one just a couple of months ago...we have strict rules when we find them.we are to touch nothing and call our officers out so they can collect it and send it off for an autopsy....i'm sorry,cows, birds, or bugs, you dont shoot an eagle....how unamerican is that ? to shoot an eagle.i'm pissed just hearing it.

Canadians aren't the ones who shot the Eagle to almost Extinction than made made it their Nation Symbol of Freedom....
If your pet dog was being attacked by the last Bald Eagle on Earth would you save the dog by shooting the bird or let the bird have it to feast on...

oh , you two are so mature......for one , this isnt about canandians or Americans...but for the record, we're the ones that brought it back after they were chosen to be our symbol....we did the same things with turkeys but i dont hear anyone whining bout that.....and if an eagle wanted to eat my dogs, God Bless is all i have to say about that.....it wouldnt happen, not because of my actions but because of the dogs.
There is no way you can justify this.....so theres really no use trying...killing eagles are wrong , bottom line.

British Columbia had 35,000 Bald Eagles had that many before you even attempted to bring em back..
If ya did proper game management to begin with you woulda had plenyt in the lower 49 parrallel..
Us people in British Columbia have managed to coexist with raptures (birds of prey) predators and ungulates plus be a huge ranching and farming and tourism province....
British Columbia is world renowned for tourism fishing hunting and raw materials....
If we have to take a couple of baby steps bycontorlling a few raptures or predators to make keep our livestyle going like it is so be it....
I'm not the one complaining......I'm stating a fact........
Obviously the B.C. fish and game board agrees with it as well...
Your not going to sit there and tell mewhat we're doing is wrong not when your attempted wolf implementation program is going south big time, and your wt deer pop in the east is so far outta control a 2 year old buck is considered mature ...

I'm leaving for a few days so I won't be able to reply..
Please don't be upset at Simp..He stated a factat first,and made light of a stupid silly statement I made next..
All he's trying to do is keep things cool...Your beef is with me..
I respect the fact you don't like eagles shot...
I for one would never in a million years do it, I once even had an eagle swoop down and grab a fish off the end of my fishing line..
Cursed him rolled my eyes, laughed a little that was it...
For the most part,I feel whats out there,animalsare entitled to it..
And I certainly think predatrors and birds of prey come before my hunting and fishing privledges..
However I feel if it hurts someone finacially, someone who is doing his best to make ends meet, working one of the toughest jobs there is out there,so he provide food on the table for his familly and save money to putand put his kids through school..
Well I sympathise and don't disagree with what he did.
He did it legally, and he ethically, and I hope you can respect that.....
He has not had a problem with them since..
However if a case should arise again I'll beg him to capture itand thanI'll transport it to you..
That way its not his problem, and you have one more to enjoy in your neibourhood....:)

I didn't think we shot them almost to extinction, wasn't it pestacides (DDT Specifically) that took its toll on the eagle population? DDT caused the eagle's egg shells to be so thin that they could not survive. Anyway, I understand some might have issues with predation and want to kill the birds, but I myself am not in that position. I personally have enjoyed watching eagles fishing, what an amazing sight.
