Patterning
 

I went to the range today after putting in asuper full choke. I shot at 25 yards and the majority of the pattern is about 4 to 5 inches to the left. Then I shot at 50 yards and there was only about 20 holes.I am thinking that it could be a foot or more to the left.what should i do to fix this? Or how far right would you aim? I am not looking to shoot 50 yards but would like to shoot 35 to 40.

You might try a different size shot in your gun (if you are shoting 4's try 5's or 6's). Sometimes picking a different manufacturer can make a difference (Federal 3 inch, No. 6 shot works best in my gun). If changing shot size or manufacturers don't solve the problem, invest in a red dot scope or holoscope. This allows you to move the center of your shot pattern to the center of your target by adjusting the scope. After adjusted, when you put the red circle on the turkeys head, that is where the shot goes!!! Dead Turkey!!!

Yep, with my Browning B-80 Winchester Supremes shoot high and to the right...
Federal Premiums and the cheap Remington Nitros shoot dead on, that's what I use.

How big of a target were you using?

I put up a thread a few months ago, right around the opening of the spring season on exactly how I go about patterning a turkey gun. Here is a link directly to the thread.

As to fixing your point of aim problem, you need to either get your gun shimed to correct your cast problem (if you are right handed and shooting right, you will need a degree or two of cast off I believe), or you will need some sort of sights/scope. I use a scope on my turkey gun, and its a great tool.

I remember reading SwampCollie's patterning suggestions and they were very good. That has just about everything you need to get the job done...

If you put a scope on the gun, you can zero it to place the densest part of the pattern dead center. Also, you should try different sized shot, different manufacturers, different loads, etc. to see what gives you the best pattern.
