Muzzy Grasshoppers

Anyone use Muzzy Grasshoppers when bowhunting for turkey? From my understand they prevent the arrow from a pass through. I didn't know if anyone has used them or have any knowledge of them or if they affect the arrow flight? Thanks everyone!

MossyOak722 any form of an arrow arrestor is better then none at all.

But I have found that the best is to have the sliding type. This will allow the arrow greater penertration, but still no pass through. The fixed arrestors either stop the head from pasing through, ot they (the arrestors) will actually do damage to the meat by entering the bird itself.

I personally use the Zwickey Scropio and have found them to be great and have never had any damage done to the meat from the arrestor. Also I usually find that the arrow is about even out both sides of the bird (hard to run or fly that way).

Good luck.

This is funny thatI just say this. I just got done shooting them. They fly streight but they do weigh down the arrow alittle bit past 20 yards. but under 20 they fly fine. i havent shot a bird yet with them but know people that have and they love them. ill let ya know when openig day rolls around....:Dgoodluck

I think you are confusing the grashoppers with the zwicky scropio's. The Muzzy site actually says this:

Muzzy Grasshopper Rings
Great for stump shooting and
small game. Won’t skip or
bury under grass. Springloaded
rings can be added
behind any screw-in field point
or any style tip. Ring s are 20
grains each.
Below is a link that shows a picture of the grasshopper
http://www.eders.com/Muzzy-Grasshopper-p571c108-path0.html

Here is a link to a picture of the Zwickey Scropios
http://www.3riversarchery.com/Product.asp?c=10&s=43&p=86&i=4205X

If you look at the pictures of both, you will see that the grasshopper has the head screw tight against them while the scropio slides onto the arrow itself.

Hope this helps.
