Gobbler down!
well i finally got the break in the weather today. It was aperfect morning, 40 degrees no wind. I had no luck right off the roost. After spotting a flock of turkeys at 930about 3\4 mile off the road i put the sneak on. Used the woods to get within 100 yards. The flock included 3 mature toms, 6 jakes, and ruffly 10-15 hens. I made some soft yelps and the hens answered very angerly, before long the boss hen was charging in to kick some but, with the 3 strutting and spitting\drumming toms in tow. 20 yard shot, 22 pounds, 10 inch beard, 3\4 inch spurs. Awesomefeeling when it allcomes together after 5 hard days of hunting!

RE: Gobbler down!
well thanks for all the complements. Just a little bit more info, it is my second bird, although it is the first called in(the other was snuck up on) The weather was just crazy, wed was a blizzard with school being cancled, thursday was still snowing/35mph wind, fri morn was a bust because the snow had melted some and then froze so they could hear ya from a mile away. But sat and sunday the weather was perfect with all the snow being melted and highs in the low 60s. The turkeys in my area, south central wis, are still in large flocks and not comming to the call at all. Good luck to all other hunters.
