turkey bow question

Here's a question for you turkey bowhunters: Someone suggested that I try shooting turkeys with a rubber blunt rather than a broadhead. The idea is that it would knock the bird over and stun it, and then you have to run up, grab them and finish them off. I guess he has had problems shooting turkeys with broadheads and them having them fly off quite a ways before finally dropping. I wasn't sure if this sounded like a very logical tactic, but I wanted to see what your opinions were. What do you guys think?

Bad idea!!! Practice with your broadheads and know where to hitthe gobblers. The only way to ethically take any animal is by a razor sharp broadhead.

Never shoot a turkey or big game animal with nothing less than a razor sharp broadhead!

I speak from experience, I hit a turkey with a judo point when I was a young teenager and it bounced off doing no lethal damage but I'm sure today it injured the bird.

A blunt will do nothing more than bounce off, break bones, internal injuries and the bird will still fly off and possibly die or have lasting trauma, (unless a head shot knocks it out)....unethical as far as I'm concerned. Use a razor sharp broadhead and enjoy the pictures afterwards. :D

How many times has this person who suggested using a blunt on a turkey been successful at bring home a turkey? I'd guess none!
As the others have said, sharp broadhead in the right spot for success, or guillotine to the head/neck which is also very effective!
