ya ive hunted turkeys in the rain before, but whether or not it rains its just the fact that the field is already muddy and has standing water.....but no tracks. Thanks for the help...its makin me feel a little more confident than before.

It may not be the water in the field causing lack of sign. It may be a lack of food. If there is something there for them to eat they will be there, water or no water. Find the food and you will find sign.

I have shot a few turkeys in this one particular field on our place. Always has either p nuts, soybeans, or corn planted in it. Leave it in fescue over the winter. Full of grasshoppers and all sorts of whatnot. I have shot two birds in that field after almost a week of heavy rain and there was so much mud on their feet I'm not sure how they could walk.

Now, they don't do incredibily well with standing water, but I have seen them wade creeks instead of flying them, but I would suspect they would prefer not to get wet.
