Choke?

I came in to ownership of a H&R 10gaugeModel 176 single shot shot-gun with rifle sites. Ihave no idea how to check what the choke of thisgun is? all it says on top of the barell is: Cylnd bore

I would love to use it for Turkey hunting but only if it is full choke.
I can't find anything on the web.

RE: Choke?

sounds like its a cylinder bore. a barrel that has a cylinder choke(no choke) and doesnt accept choke tubes. one option is take it to a gun smith and have him tap the barrel to accept your favorite choke tubes. then buy a turkey choke...could make yourself a heck of a turkey gun. i forget what that costs...think about 40$ here i want to say...worth looking into if you wanna make it a turkey gun

I USED TO HAVE ONE BUT IT HAD A FULL CHOKE, I WOULD SAVE THE MONEY AND BUY FEDERAL FLIGHT CONTROL WAD SHELLS, ALL MY BUDDIES ARE SHOOTIN THEM W/ IMP CYL CHOKES AND POUNDIN THE TARGET AT 40 YARDS TO ABOUT 55 YARDS. I THINK THEY ARE SHOOTING #6 SHOT.

RE: Choke?

Tedrow, So I can shoot the shells you mentioned in a no-chocke cylinder 10g. and it will group those shots for turkey at under 50 yards? I don't have to do anything to the gun, just get the shells?

That sounds great, I just want to clarify that before I amke any other decisions. thanks.
