I have never scored either. I have bought tags for fall hunts just in case, while I am deer hunting but, always seem to let them pass in hopes the deer are following.

I didn't kill one till my third season. I had eye surgery the following year and did'n't get one. Last year I was fortunate enough to kill two. Don't get discouraged, when that bird comes in strutting, spittin' and drumming and you get to hearHim gobble up close you will be hooked for life.

I have killed exactly one in ten years of hunting them. I have made my share of mistakes wich led to the missed opportunity, but you learn from your mistakes. I Hunt public land and the competition is intense for them. I just love the thunder of the gobble in the morning. I would go just forthat.

RE: who has never killed a turkey...
I started when I was a kid (9 to be exact) and refused to let anyone call for me, or show me the ropes. I was stubborn little cuss.
Took me 9 years (finally killed my first bird on my 18th birthday) to connect with one. 9 years of hard knocks and learning what not to do. I tagged number 30 last spring, the light had to come on some how.
Once you figure it out, it ain't that hard, but it never EVER gets any less exciting! Hang in and learn your lessons well, it will be worth it and it WILL PAY OFF!!!
