RE: Team #1 "The Tominators"

Well guys, I thought I had one for the team today. He was coming in and all was going well then all of a sudden the absolute worst sound possible came from my Primos Triple Bat. I checked it out and part of the latex had actually torn away. That ole boy is probably still running in the other direction from where I was. I should get out Friday and Saturday. Hopefully things will go a little better. Already been to Gander Mt. to pick up a replacement :D

I see some of the team members have 2 birds scored. Can we do that??
If so I killed a hog a few days ago here in Pa. It was 24 3/4 lbs 10 3/8 beard and only 1" spurs.
Your score is 24.1875 + 10 + 10 + 20 = 64.1875

Nice bird Bullshooter!! In the rules post, Pat stated "If you are in a state that has multiple bird limits then count the biggest one towards your team score. It can be either the first or second one". So I take that to mean you can post multiples and they just take the highest score. I'm hoping to get a crack at a larger bird starting Sunday.

Give all your bird measurements to our captain and he will figure the scores andget them to me and I will post them so all can see just how your season went. It will be your biggest bird that counts towards the total team score.

Pat and I are almost done here in Ne and Ka and will be home to Mo soon. Actually Pat is done and is filling his Ne tags now and will go hunt Ka next.

Guys, send me all of your bird stats. I'm keeping track of all birds on this thread. I will then submit the best stats for the contest at the end.

Okay guys, I'm ashamed here. I had a fantastic hunt today, I had 2 toms hot on the roost, stolen by hens at first light, but I had a good Idea of how the morning would play out and I had a plan. I was set up on the direction of travel they have been taking lately. I figured if the toms got henned up, if I waited it out, they would be back my way. Well, the toms got henned up and I waited. I was going to give it until 9:00 before I moved. At about 8:45 I heard a gobble in the distance. I was getting answers, but the bird was far away and not getting closer. Plan B. Go after him. I got up, closed the distance a bit, and set up again. I was closer, but still far away. He answered every call but didnt seem to move, so I got quiet. After a while, I clucked a bit. GOBBLEGOBBLE! Closer. I waited a bit more. Scratched the leaves, a few more clucks GOBBLEGOBBLE! He had passed me. I clucked a couple more times, then I could see him above me on the hill working his way back down. Okay, here's where I mess up. I picked a tree that was about 40 yards away, and said to myself inside that tree line I can go ahead and shoot. Instead of waiting for him to get closer, I let him have it. He dissapeared over a rise, I couldnt tell if he was up or down, so I ran to him uphill. About half way there, I see him run and then take flight... Well, I'm having a great season as far as action goes, just having some SERIOUS problems controling myself and sealing the deal. Sorry guys. At least I still have that jake for the team, but I still have a couple hunts to go. I am going to take a chill pill and wait until it hurts next time if I get another chance.[:o]

Well it looks like I will have to end my season with a rio bearded hen w/ 5" beard. I guess the rio tom will have to stand as my high score. After a month plus here in Ne., I have to get home and take care of business. Season is still on till the 20th and Pat is still here hunting for a few more days.

Congrats to all of you on a very fine season!!
