Guys,

Can someone post the formula for scoring turkey here. I need the formula, not the web calculatort (I have that)

Tells ya how to score and is not the calculator.

Weight (converted to decimal) + Spurs (measured and converted to decimal and multiplied by 10 each Spur) + Beard measured and converted to decimal (multiply by 2) and add all together.

So - Review

Weight + (Lft Spur x10 +Rt Spur x 10) + (Beard length x 2) = Score

You need to convert your numbers before you can add them:

1/8 Measurements
1/8 = .1250
2/8 = .2500
3/8 = .3750
4/8 = .5000
5/8 = .6250
6/8 = .7500
7/8 = .8750

1/16 Measurements
1/16 = .0625
2/16 = .1250
3/16 = .1875
4/16 = .2500
5/16 = .3125
6/16 = .3750
7/16 = .4375
8/16 = .5000
9/16 = .5625
10/16 = .6250
11/16 = .6875
12/16 = .7500
14/16 = .8750
15/16 = .9375

Weight
When figuring the weight there are 16 oz to a pound so simply look at the chart to find your number.

16 pounds 3 oz Turkey converts to 16.1875

Spur Length
Multiply the spur length by 10

Left = 3/4 inch = 6/8 = .7500 x 10 = 7.5
Right= 3/4 inch = 6/8 = .7500 x 10 = 7.5

Beard Length
Multiply the beard length by 2

103/8 inches = 10.3750 x 2 = 20.75

Your score is 16.1875 + 7.5 + 7.5 + 20.75 = 51.9375
