stupid question for yall
on my regulations for spring turkey it says bearded hens or gobblers ...now the question is can it be all gobblers or does it have to be a tom and not a a jake?or both a tom and a jake that you can shoot

RE: stupid question for yall
I would say if it has a beard it is considered a gobbler. No matter how small the beard.
A jake is a young gobbler. |
RE: stupid question for yall
ok thanks tkycaller its just that me and my uncle got a gobbler goin this past few days and i couldnt tell how big his beard was although he was gobbling like crazy i cant wait for two more weeks
|
RE: stupid question for yall
As long as your regulation giude book states one bearded bird per license , yes itcould be a jake, tom or hen just as long it has a beard.
|
RE: stupid question for yall
and the key word there is beard - so take the time to properly identify your target by making sure you see a beard before you pull that trigger!

RE: stupid question for yall
Yes make sure you identify it has a beard. But if I was you I wouldnt be getting a gobbler going this early. Dont educate them early. I mean its ok to roost one, but dont go out set up and call one in. This will educate that turkey. Just my opinion... Arrowmaster
