RE: 2 3/4 inch loads

Have had lost count of the turkeys I had killed with a Win.mod 12 20gaMod in the early years, but then again, I have always taken them at 25-35yds. Hey, 75ft and 105ft is not close!

If your Gun has been patterned properly with the right Loads, you have done your Scouting properly, you break up your Silhouette, Sit without moving, Know how to and when to Call, you will take a Turkey every year!:)

I beileve you! I have killed 2 turkeys with 2 3/4 inch shells over 40 yards. One was at 43 yards, and the other was 49 yards. I ranged it. My father in law killed one with a 3 inch at 55 yards. If you have a tight choke and your gun shoots the load accurately its very possible to take one at 60. It only takes one pellet to kill a turkey. It just has to be in the right spot!;)

Why would anybody shoot over 40-45 yds at a turkey and run a great chance of crippling a bird.To me its all about bringing in close enough to feel them drumming. If i go home w/out a turkey so be it.I don't care what choke shell combo you shoot its just to risky!!
