I plan to go to Missouri in a few weeks to do some"Gobbler Chasing"!Any advice on what type of broadheads to get?

Well, the gobbler guillotine has a 4-6 inch cut. So that might be what you're looking for and there's a brodhead out called scorpio it looks good also. What kind of bow are you going to be using? (Just curious.) The gobbler guillotine looks good, it's got metal things or something sticking way out, like I said 4-6 inch cut. Good luck!

I'm packing a"Bear"whitetail II,cams not wheels.
This will be my first turkey season with new cables.About 2 months ago I broke my cable,it shoots good now,just experiecing some squiking but nothing I can't fix.

I considered trying the guillotines but I did not want to completely retool my bow. Also, there isn't really a good way to practice with those things, and no amount of convinceing will have me buy in to them flying like a field point...

I went with Rocket Hammerheads. 2" cutting diameter. With that older Bear that isn't throwing an arrow quite as fast as my Hoyt, I would shoot a 2 - 4 blade fixed broadhead.

the guillotines come in either 2" or 4" cut and they are not meant to be used for body shots, only head/neck shots because they will not penetrate the body. Plus you have to use long uncut arrows to keep those extra long blades away from your sights.
Pick a quailty mech. head such as the jackhammers, hammerheads, or even the rage heads. I like the extra cut that these heads offer over most fixed heads, helps anchor that bird quicker!

spottedwolf any head that your accurate with will work for you. Nothing special required, just make sure your accurate with it. a turkey has a lot smaller vital area then a deer, so accuracy is more important. I would also recomend the use of an arrow arrestor of some kind to stop the arrow from a pass through. This will also transfer the complete KE from the arrow into the bird (will actually move the bird on contact). All of this will help recover the bird, limits the ability of running or flying. I personally like and use the Zwicky Scropio arrow arrestor, but there are others out there that can be used as well.

The gobbler guillotine has its place, but I personally do not like it, again that is my opinion. It is for head or neck shots only. I have actually seen the head on a video bounce off the neck of a turkey (the company promo video) with no penertration. Got the turkey but if it would not penertrate the neck, I would not trust it to penertrate the body. I also think that trying to shoot at a bobbing head is more difficult then taking the body shots.

I have had good success with the Rages and Hypershocks but with your Bear you should get good results with any quailty fixed blade head. In that catagory I'm a Muzzy fan. Good Luck and Safe Hunting!!!
