Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Pines,

Thats great news that your mom's surgery went well.

Washington,

Thats to bad about not going opening day, but with the photos you showed us before i don't think you will have much of a problem getting a bird.

Wow it was a roller coaster ride. Got to kansas and got all unpacked and set out my target and pulled the trusty Mathews out to shoot a few arrows through it to make sure it was still dialed in and pulled it back and WHAM!!!!!The string broke,[:@], scared the s#it out of me.. And no back up bow.. So I look for an archery shop the next day to get a new string and nothing in the area, so I go to a pawn shop and they have a bunch of bows but only one in my draw length, it is set up 1980 style but beggars cant be choosie..So I buy this XI, has sight arrows quiver, pretty much everything, shoot it the next day and get it drilled in pretty good, go out on the 2nd and call me in a really good Tom, 23# 10 oz, spurs are 1.25, beard 11in..Scores 69.375, going to have him mounted and Name him the PAWN TOM!!!!!!! I will have a back up bow when I go back in a couple of days..

That definately will be a turkey to remember after that roller coaster ride of being ready and pumped, to having to find a new string but then eventually having to find a used bow. Congrats.

Hey guys!

I'm a little late but I'm checking in. My season starts next week April 14th. Hopefully, I will get another bird like last years.

Donnie

Here he is. My Kansas Rio with a bow.
Your score is 19.5 + 11.25 + 11.25 + 21.25 = 63.25
You can read the story on the bowhunting page under we are not in Kansas anymore.

Congratulations to everyone I haven't congratulated yet!

JW!, I have a favor to ask of you. Is there any chance you would step in and take over as team captain? Since I started this new job working the archery shop in Sportsman's Warehouse I've been extremely busy, so busy in fact that I don't think I'll be able to support our team well as a captain.

Let me know if you wouldn't mind doing this, otherwise I'll still do my best to take care of things when I have the time.

Good news is, I'm not scheduled to be into work until 10 opening morning. I'll be in my blind until 9:30 opening morning unless I get something. Boss knows if I'm a bit late its because I bagged a bird.

I might be taking one of the guys I work with out to see if I can get him a bird with his bow too, so who knows.

We'll see what happens.

Had a customer and his son come into the store today after hunting the majority of the Youth Opener's morning. They hit two birds but lost them both (bow hunters). Said the birds are gobbling up a storm, the toms even flew the roost before the hens. This warm weather has them riled up for sure.
