Monsterbuck, don't let the rain scare you away, those birds will be out regardless. I hunted here in IN on our opening day and it was a down pour with 30 mph winds and seen plenty of birds. Granted it was not a lot of fun, but if it's your last shot at it I would don some rain gear and be out there. Try to focus on small open fields where you may have seen them before. Seems like I always see them out in the open fields just standing around when it's raining.

I cooked some of my turkey last night and man was it good. I cut it up into little bite size nuggets, breaded (with Drakes of course) and deep fried. Made some cocktail sauce (ketsup and horseradish) opened a Guiness and enjoyed.

Congrats Mauser, looking forward to your pictures.

rain is a pretty big problem when crossing a creek that would probly be up to my waist and flowing fast. last week it was over my boot and this week its rained everyday and going to rain all weekend i think i am going to a different farm though but its not as good but i normally see turkeys.

Been out 4 days in the past week, seen birds 3/4 of those days. Saw 7 gobblers yesterday (atleast) no dice on any of them, although 3 of them were pushin 10-12" beards and looked to be well over 21-22lbs!! absolute giants, we're hunting them wednesday

Congrats to those that have gotten one!

Im still tryin to at least hear a bird this season. It always seems that no matter where I'm at, the birds are nowhere to be found.

mauser06 where did you shoot your bird at? I went up around Cook Forest on saturday but no luck. Im sure ill get a chance at one eventually. Theres still a couple weeks left in the season and it seems like things are really starting to heat up. Ive been seeing a lot more birds in the fields while driving around (usually to and from huntins spots; go figure) lol
