tick repellent

On some outings last year, I was covered up with ticks. Is there any store bought repellents, or how 'bout some home remedies?

am in chemistry - only product I know of for clothes is Permanone and has Permethrin in it. Spray clothes - do read the product label carefully and it does help.

On skin repellent products that conatin deet do work to a limited extent.

Again read the product label.

On returning home or putting away clothes in the truck or vehicle. I bag them in a big plastic bag and spray any ole house and garden insecticide and then close the bag tightly. This will help kill anything hiding in your clothes.

Or put in a dryer at a hot setting for 10 minutes. Now make sure you have emptied out calls and shot shells!

Ticks are the only critter I know of that makes one get naked as ya can't see everywhere on yer body!

100% deet around the ankles/cuff area and around the waist/belt. Helps keep them from crawling in.

what JW said. Use permathrin, but make sure you dont spray it on you, treat your clothes and let them dry. Repel with Permanone is one brand name you can get at wally world for like 5 bucks a can. Treat a full outfit and the stuff will last for a couple of weeks. It works too!

Try and tuck all your clothes in so that if a tick is to get on you it doesn't have alot of acces points to reach your skin; you're basically creating a shell. Spray down every layer of your clothing with bug spray, and try to use spray with deet. Tuck your pants into your boots, and spray extra around that area where you tucked them in with bugspray. Again, tuck your shirt into pants, spray that area generously. Spray where sleeves tuck into gloves a little extra.
