Full Strut Turkey Decoy

I was thinking of getting a full strut decoy and was wondering if anyone has used either the B-Mobile by Primos or the Pretty Boy by Carry-Lite.

I picked up a B-mobile. Still kinda early to be thinking about Turkey hunting in Upstate NY right now with the snow we still have on the ground. I can't wait for season though. I got my b-mobile for $60 at a local shop. Noticed they are around $70 on the net. Just my .02

I have the Carry-Lite. The name is a real mis-nomer, while it is light, its a devil to tote around. Add a real turkey fan, which is relatively delicate and you can quickly be making two tripsback to the truck to get all your stuff.

On to the point, the decoy (I named mine Puff Daddy) will either draw a gobbler right in, or spook him out of the county. It would take a brave group of 2 y.o. birds, or a tough 3 y.o. bird to tango up to the thing. The dominant bird of the area however, will come charging right at it and finish everytime (which is a good thing). The first two hunts I had with it last year produced birds that would come about half way, then changetheir mind. Not spook, just decide they didn't want any of what The Rock was cooking. Third hunt produced two gobblers from two different spots. Just gotta find someone who wants to play.

I am going to try and stick one with a bow this spring, and I think that this decoy is going to really help my chances, because the toms will not take their eyes off of it.

Thanks for the input...I am also going to try and use my bow this year, and hopefully these decoys will bring them in. I was watching Primo's Truth about Hunting last night and they had birds all over them with their decoy.

Here in Oklahoma we have about another month until turkey season starts. I already busted out the diaphragm call and have been annoying my wife.

The Truth 18 is pretty cool. Purchased it tonight and am watching it. There is quite a bit of hype with these decoys but I have no doubts that this will pull some birds in. Can't wait to use it! Hopefully I bag a bird early on w/ my shot gun b/c I wanna get one with my bow. I don't know if it's realistic or not b/c I just got into bow hunting this winter. I won't stop practicing until I get a bird. Did I say I can't wait?I can't wait!

By the way...my significant other (girlfriend) has already gotten annoyed withme practicing on my calling too...

My girlfriend has been duck hunting her whole life, but has never turkey hunted before. I got her a slate and a bunch of those Quaker Boy diaphrams built on smaller frames and she is right in there with me making all sorts of racket! Its good to have one as nuts about it as you are!

I went with the B-mobile versus the Pretty Boy for the simple reason of mobility. The B-mobie folds up nicely and the Pretty Boy is hard plastic. We'll see how they work in April!

Definately not bad rationale Ryan. Another buddy of mine who has a Puff Daddy of his own leaves it in a large rubbermade bin that he painted camo and covered with burlap. He owns about 500 acres, so its pretty safe to leave $100 hidden in the woods. That way its ready to go right near where he likes to hunt. Should work well for you!

We killed a couple birds off my Pretty Boy last year. It's a death sentence for any bird that gets a visual on it - they come in on a string.

My buddy actually sprayed the face and fan of the Pretty Boy on the first bird we killed off of it last fall - it's kinda funny when the wind is blowing it around in circles - you can see the sun shining through all the holes in the fan. LOL

I mean, $100 is a lot of dough to waste on a deke, and it's useless to carry (solid plastic and not collapsible), but if you're gonna try a specific setup at flydownand you can ditch the deke afterward, it's definitely the way to go. I take a lot of guys out, so we always try at least one setup off the roost before taking off on foot.

One realistic fear with the Pretty boy is another hunter shooting it. This thing looks so good in the field, that it would prompt another guy to shoot at it. Just be careful where you're using it.
