when should I hunt
Alright here's the deal, my job requires me to work 6 to 7 days a week. Sometimes I'll get a few sundays off but I have no desire to hunt on sundays so that's out. The sundays that I have to work I do the minimum amount that has to be done so I can go to church and I can sometimes do this on other days of the week.
My question is, should I go hunting before daylight and have to quit around 9am to 10am or should I start working before daylight and hit the woods around 9am or 10am. In the past I have always went hunting first. BTW in Tennessee we can hunt all day or till sunset I guess I should say. |
RE: when should I hunt
i'd hit the woods after......most of the folks woul dof already left.....and most the birds would of done the breeding they're going to do so that gobbler might be easier to call in.......

RE: when should I hunt
I agree! Hunt last.
You will have the rest of the day to find birds. Many many birds are killed after 10am and before 2pm.... Good luck! |
RE: when should I hunt
I would say the morning but if you can find a spot where thereis a lot of birds in the evening then I would hunt evenings.

RE: when should I hunt
Myself I would hunt the afternoon,in Missouri we can only hunt till 1 pm. But most of the gobbling will happen in the morning, but sometimes after 9 am the hunting really gets good. Gobblers are looking for hens and will committ better in the mid-morning than in the early morning. Hope this helps. Good Luck

RE: when should I hunt
How successfull where you before?
Even when you have one roosted the nite before does not mean you will kill him early. If you can hunt the rest of the day after nine give that a try. |
