Anybody Video Turkey Hunts?
Hello, my name is Jason and I'd like to ask you some questions if you have a moment to answer. For those of you who film your turkey hunts;
What type of camcorder to you use? Canon XL2, GL2, Sony, ect? What do you plan on doing with your video? Send to a big production company for airtime? Share with friends? Personal DVD project? How much footage do you currently have of your hunts? One hunt, two full tapes or ten years of footage? If your information is a little too secretive for the world wide web- please email me at [email protected] as I am very interested in seeing what guys are using and why they are filming! This is somewhat of a "market research" project as we are trying to predict what type of film we will be recieving as our company opens up this summer. Thanks; Looking forward to your replies! |
RE: Anybody Video Turkey Hunts?
I have been videoing many of my hunts for years. I have been doing it since about 1995. I have many duck hunts I have videoed. I have brought my camera out many times turkey hunting, but it seems every time I do nothing happens. I have a couple decent turkey hunts on video. I usually hunt alone so I use a tripod and a remote to video. My deer hunting partner doesn't turkey hunt, so I have to do it solo. I went turkey hunting in Tenn. last year. I had my camera with me. I was to kill the first bird called in andmy partnerwas to film it. I worked a gobbler in picture perfect to my decoy and made a 20 yard shot. Everything was perfect, except the fact that my partnerforgot to film the whole thing. He was so into the hunt that he watched the whole thing without the camera in hand. When it was my turn to film we couldn't even strike up a gobble. I still use my Panasonic camera I bought 14 years ago. I copy the video tape on to a dvd. I have many after the hunt videos also. I plan on trying to video a few of my turkey hunts this spring. All my videos are for my personal enjoyment. Me and my hunting partner also video each other bow hunting sometimes.

RE: Anybody Video Turkey Hunts?
I almost got my deer hunt kill on viedo this year, missed the last 7 or so seconds because it walked out of the camera view. I plan on viedoing my daughter turkey hunting this year, hopefully with a little luck there. I use a sony 8mm. I need to invest in a DVD burner to copy it. I think I will be bringing the camera much more often than I do.
