I have heard of many people putting plastic or ceramic heads on their mounts that regret it. Freeze dried are worth the extra $ and the wait.

Freeze dried would be my preference since you want to preserve what YOU killed, not what you bought.

However, your taxidermist needs to be good at his craft. The one who did mine overdid the paint on the head and it's almost entirely fire engine red and not as lifelike as it should look.

As sweet as it is to watch birds getting decapped on the internet by gillotines, they just seem to be too anti-aerodynamic for me. Not to mention to expensive to practice with, meaning by wear and tear on my targets, and having to completely re-tune for spring.

I am going to go with an expandable like a Hammerhead this spring. I've shot a lot of birds with the gun, but haven't had a go with the bow yet... looking forward to it!
