alone hunting

Last year i went with someone turkey hunting since it was my first time going. should i step it up thisyear and go by myself and prove i can do it alone? or should i go another year with a partner by my side?

I did exactly what your describing this past spring. I'd always hunt with my dad in previous years, and even though i called all the shots, i wanted to prove i could do it on my own. SO this spring all but 3-4 mornings were spent alone. I even tagged along calling for friends. i enjoy calling to them and working the birds just as much as the kill. Cant really brag to your friends about calling to a bird though[8D].

this spring its going to be all about getting the hunts on film, so i doubt il spend many mornings alone seeing as how it would be hard to film and shoot at the same time, it is doable though.

i suggest go for it just to prove to yourself you can do it. fun way of learning too.

I use to hunt alone but since my wife is my camerawomen she is always with. If I were you hunt with someone you will have alot more memorable hunts. Stories are always better to share with someone that was along. Either way good luck.

By all means, try it by yourself.

Personally, I find it harder when hunting with somebody else, mostly because it's always the other person who moves at the wrong time!!
Way easier by yourself, trust me!!

Go with a friend but split up in the timber and hunt alone. If you have a long ride home from your hunting area like I do it makes the trip home alot more injoyable talking about the hunt.

Depends, if you are comfortable hunting along then go for it. If you prefer the companionship there's not reason not to hunt with a partner. It's all good.

I spend the majority of my deer hunting time alone. However, I usually have a friend along for turkey hunting. We go different ways in the woods many times, but spend the time back in camp talking about the hunt.
