Save by not buying a strutting decoy

I know some of you love the strutting decoys or the mounted ones. They can cost you a fortune though, from 60 to 400 dollars. I use feather flex foam decoys. Most of you have real turkey fans at home. Just cut a slit at the base of the tail of the feather flex and place the fan in. It will fit well enough. I know the decoy is not strutting but the gobbler will notice the fan. You can buy a feather flex jake or gobbler decoy for less than 20 dollars. I promise you this will work just as well as any strutting decoy and will cost a whole lot less. Just an idea for the hunters who want to save some money.

Last week I bought a set of 3 Feather Flex decoys for $35 at Wally world. My bud bought the 2 pack for $22. They work great for me.

Great idea, i was thinking of buying one of the bmobile, but now will giveyour idea a try. I have 2 jake decoys that are the harder material (wally world), should do fine for adding a full fan.

I have had luck with just stapleing one of my old fans to a 1" X 3' and just putting it out with the lone hed decoy.

Good info fellas, thanks
Try this too. make up a handle and mount your wing fethers in it. Use it for replicating the fly down. Smack it on your leg or arm to make it sound like a hen is comming out of the tree, maybe that tom will follow the lead.
