Decoy Types
Looking to get my first set of decoys for this season. Perhaps you guys would be able to help me make an educated decision as to how to spend my money. What do you guys use for your set up? What type of decoys, brand and how many? Thanks for the help.

RE: Decoy Types
For under $ 40.00 you can get the LifeLite Bobb'n Head Breeding Pair from BuckWing products.
The head moves with the slightest breeze and the detail and color look real enough to fool any gobbler. |

I agree with RDHunter 100%

I like the boobn' head. I bought one last spring and its very realistic. Flambeua makes good ones for the money.

RE: Decoy Types
I have three decoys that I got in a package (2 hens and one jake). It is just a basic set up and none of the decoys move. I have had a few gobblers dart across the field from about 200 yards away in a full out sprint to with in 50 yards of me. I haven't tried any other decoys, but most people from what I have read use the two hens and one jake setup. There is also a lot of info on the web on how you can setup these three decoys to represent a more realistic setup, as is with any turkey decoy setup.

RE: Decoy Types
RDHunter, I got the same set-up as you. Buckwing decoys are cheap and they work plain and simple. The colors and and textures of the decoys are awesome. The movement in them is also a great feature. Adding movement to your spread is vital in fooling a mature tom in close. I don't have the bobblin' head but I'm sure going to get one this year.
