Scope for Shotgun

I just got a new shotgun, and I would like to get a scope on it for turkey hunting. It is a semi-auto 12 gauge. I was wondering what people think about a red dot for turkey hunting? Or is a regular scope the way to go.

I'm a fixed low power scope fan. There are a bunch of red dots out there but just don't care for the battery thing. With me if it can go wrong it will.

Agreed...I wouldn't want a battery to go out on a red dot. I would just get a fixed powered scope and not look back. Nikon makes a good product but is a little pricey. Bushnell also makes a good product.

Check out theLeupold 1X4 shotgun scope. Glad to see that your shooting a Semi-Auto, I guess I'm not the only one who likes them around here!!;)

I use a scoped pump 870 for turkey. But that is just the setup I have for that gun. Wouldnt go in the marsh without the 1100, love it.
I have the scope mounted with a Square B mount. It is preaty friendly, and easy to put on and off and still be close.

Ive had a Simmons 2X32 pro diamond on my SBE since 1996 and wouldnt shoot turkeys without one now. I havent used a red dot but I kind like the cross hairs in a scope. Too me thats more accurate than a dot.

Exactly. I once used a RedDot and didn't like it. I put a fixed power Leupold on my 1300 and love it. I will never go back.

I have a Benelli SBE and use a Simmons Pro Diamond 4x32, I absolutely love this scope. I have never used a red dot scope, I would always be worried about the batteries going dead or forgetting to turn it on.

B-Square has and mount and scope package deal...that wont put a big dent in your pockey. Its durable and reliable.......Its a fixed power scope with multicoated optics....that would be a good buy.
