lohman pump action yelper?
 

i was wondering if anyone has had any luck with the call. i bought one last year but did'nt have any luck. any tips on when and how to use it. it came with a video, but the video makes it seem easy.

My dad has one and has called birds in with it. But hunt alone with it. Because you'll bust your buddy's gut if he sees you using it from behind. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

borch, thats funny that you mentioned the way the pump yelper looks. i remember the day i brought it home and took it out of the package. my wife looked at it and said &quot;did you bring me home a gift&quot; i looked at her and said, are you crazy i don't want to spoil you.hee!hee!hee!hee!

Borch & Beretta390..you both gave me my laugh for today. I understood exactly where you're coming from as I too have one of these calls myself. Wade Bourne made it look & sound real good on TV, but once I'd tried it and I've never taken it into the woods. It just doesn't sound right, even when you change to different reeds..Guess I'm stuck with the diaphragm & box calls. Has anyone used the HS Strut new slate &quot;360 surround sound&quot; as yet..I would like to know how that one sounds.

Actually fellas I felt this call was one of those calls that calls in turkey hunters instead of turkeys,but I won one in a big turkey contest and played around with it last year.I had birds gobble to it many times but just didn't have the confidence to use it in a one on one situation with a gobbler.I used it to sound like more than one hen a couple of times,but the real downfall is way to much movement in operating the call itself.But it sounded ok once I got it tuned correctly.

K&N lonesome hen sounds better. I have had better luck with it. Stick to the mouth calls.

Anybody have they pump action friction call they would sell? Even if it’s just the slate part?
