RE: At RDHunters request
Hi guys! I haven't been posting much in a while. Just been too darned busy! Been lurkin' some, though.
Give another week or so and I'll have some to show. Most of what I am building this year is from wood donated by Hurricane Katrina. Until then, here are a couple I made last year. First are some that I made as Christmas Presents. Top to bottom is Poplar, White Ash, and Bois D'arc. All 3 have walnut lids. Then comes a call that I really liked the looks of. Sounded pretty decent, too. Traded that one for one of Gary Joffrion's calls at Magnolia Game Calls. Check out his stuff at www.magnoliacalls.com Third are a pair of pecan boxes that I made on a dare from a friend of mine. When I told him what I use for sources of wood, he laughed and handed me a piece of firewood off his smokewood pile. The tree had bugs in it. He killed his first bird of the year over one of those calls last year. Last is a set that came from a pallat that was to be thrown away at work. I don't have a clue what kind of wood they are, but they sure made pretty calls. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
