ORIGINAL: half rack

Thats what I've been told by all the old reloaders and they know more about it than I do.Thats how they keep the pellet count up in the heavierthan lead stuff. Most of the heavy stuff cut back on the shot from the lead standards to keek it flying at 1250-1300 fps.Pretty sure on this stuff because I asked alot of questions and did ckecking last year when I got interested in the federal Hevy-Weight loads.I also found out just because the were 35% dencer didn't make them all that much heavier. If I'm wrong just let me know.
An object of a given size (a #5 pellet for example) which is denser, is, by definition, heavier.

It's hard to get across what you want to say and get it in the proper words.
I tried to make itas simple as I could when I compared Hevy shot, Extended Range (Win.)Heavy Weight(FEDERAL SHOT)And copper plated lead.I pulled each shell apart and weighed the same numberof #5pellets.All were heavier than the lead but notas much as they claimed to be by the% they listed.
I do know that Hevy-shot is not round and can vary as much as .o15 in a shell. All other loads were within .oo5 on the Outside diameter.Winchester load was the smallest on averageby about .006.Federal and Winchester both were very round but I thought the Win. were slitely rounder truer.
I know I liked the energy I got from my #4 copper plated shells. So I wanted to keep the energy at or above with #5 shot of one of the heavy shot loads.
I would love to talk to anybody that knows the math that could come up with the energy.

Since this has drummed up a few pages of content, I emailed Federal regarding the shells with the FliteControl Wads. Below are the contents of my email (editted for some content of course), followed by their response:

My email:

I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag Thumbhole Turkey Series w/ an Ulti-Full
.695 choke tube. When I shoot the 3.5" Mag-Shok 2 oz. shot, 5 shot
shell with FliteControl through my gun, I get a massive amount of recoil
as compared to other loads of the equivalent. Is my .695 choke tube too
tight for this shotshell?

Their response:

I would think yes as optimal performance is achieved with .665-.675 with
a non ported choke and no wad stopper feature.
We no longer need to ultra restrict it with the Flitecontrol system.

Hopefully this sheds some light on the subject.

So this means don't overchoke the flight control wads? I'm gonna shoot a lot of shells on paper to see once it warms up!

Well, if I get a chance today or tomorrow, I'm going to pick up a less restrictive choke and run a dozen or so shells thru mine.

Anybody have suggestions for best place to buy a bunch of different choke tubes? Kind of a one stop shop for them? I want to really work with a new gun or two of mine this year and was hoping there was a place to buy multiple chokes in one place.
