I ran into a great deal on a Browning gold 12 gauge shotgun. It has a 26" barrel and included 3 invector plus choke tubes. I need to get a turkey choke for this gun. Any feed back would be appricated. Don

I play around every year with loads and chokes and guns.Everyone is different.I worked with 2 new 835's right out of the box.Those 2 guns patterned way different one than the other .One of the worste combos for one worked the best in the other!You just have to see what works in yours.
One place you might want to start is Win.Extended range.My buddies andI ran them thru 10-12 different guns and got atleaste a good pattern out of every gun.I think 7 guys wound up shooting them last season and nobody had a gripe with the loads.I stayed with my old Federal loads but will be going to the Ex.range this year.I just got to decide on #4 or #5's they both pattern great!

DoninVa... I think that when it comes to choke tubes its really a case of trial and error. You may get a great pattern with the chokes you already have. You just need to shoot several different loads to find which one works best for your gun... as every gun is and WILL shoot loads differently! I happen to have two Remington 870's that shoot totally different. One of them shoots best with with an Undertaker choke and the other shoots great with a Primos jellyhead choke. Yet when I tried to switch the chokes between the two, they were terrible. Now when I say terrible, I mean that they would have worked but it was not as tight a pattern as I like! So, I know that doesn't help a whole lot about the choices out there but like I said it is mostly trial and error!
Although I have heard some great things about the Indian Creek choke tubes. So if I had to pick one tube, then I would say pick one that is in your price range(depends on what you want to spend or can afford) and just shoot as many different loads( i.e. Federal, Winchester; 2 3/4 thru 3 1/2 inch; #4's,#5's,#6's) as you can til you get the pattern that you want. At least you have some time to work it out before the season starts! Good luck this year and stay safe!

If you want to start cheap try a Tru-Glo Gobblestopper. As others have mentioned it all depends on the individual gun, and the different shells have a big impact too. Rockby, Penhook is located east of Rocky Mount and south of Smith Mtn. Lake. Doninva, if you need any help just let me know; I live here in Roanoke and hunt the area near Burnt Chimney some.

Thanks guys, I will have to try the full that came with the gun. My boy shoots a strut stopper, and loves it, in his Remington 11-87. I bought the 3" model. I had a 3.5- 870 but only shot 3" out of it. Penhook isas stated earlier,I live about 150' from Smithmountain lake.Don
