Turkey calls

Hello
Attempting to make a turkey call for my grandson, does anyone know how you get the slate thin enough without breaking it. We were at a festival and saw a demonstration and would like to make a turkey call.

Sand sand sand and sand some more. It's a bugger getting it to the right thickness.

What kind of shape are you doing the slate in?

Like tkycaller I was going to offer you a round piece if that's the shape you're doing. Mine are 3" rounds. Let me know if that'll do ya :)
