Spring 2007 IL Turkey hunt
 

Greetings. This is a rare venture into the turkey forum for me. My wife really wants to go turkey hunting in the Spring of 2007. I've been trying to do my part and practicing with my mouth calls and I'm actually getting pretty good. What I need to know is if any of you guys can recommend me an outfitter or some place to go with a good opportunity for a bird. We live in Central IL and I would like to keep the hunt in-state, but as far as where in the state, we aren't particular. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where exactly in Illinois do you live? If you are anywhere close to me, i would be glad to take you and your wife out and put you on some birds.

That is an awesome offer! We live in Bloomington/Normal. Distance isn't really a major problem. I am from Upper Michigan and my wife is from Green Bay, so driving doesn't scare us as we go up there to deer hunt during gun season. If you have birds, we'll make the trip!

We,ve got an obscenely cheap Illinois turkey hunt that was 100% last year, but even that can't beat the deal that River Hunter has offered you.

hootnscootI was talkng to our outfitter and he will start taking turkey bookings right after the first of Jan. They only take around 9 or so hunters so if you are interested let me know the last part of Dec. and I can see if we can get you in. They were 100% for 9 hunters last year.
