Default MY FIRST YEAR OF LEARNING! BUT STILL AMAZED!

I HAVE BEEN HUNTING,SCOUTING,WATCHING 12 INCH BEARDS GO BY BECAUSE IT IS NOT SEASON. I HAVE 100 ACRES OF PRIME LAND AND HAVE SEEN 2 10-12 INCH LONGBEARDS AT ONE AREA WILL THEY STAY IN THE SAME FIELD? I HAVE ALSO BEEN SURROUNDED BY A FLOCK OF AT LEAST 25 TO 30 COMING UPHILL AND BUT IT HAS BEEN IN FEB AND AS SPRING COMES THEY ALL LIKE DISSAPEAR! I HAVE A ROAD THAT IS BETWEEN PINES AND WHITE OAKS THAT THEY SEEM TO SCRATCH ON THIS VERY ROAD EVERYDAY SHOULD I HUNT IT OR GO TO A WIDE OPEN FIELD WHICH IS ROUGHLY 190 YDS AWAY OR SIT IN THE MIDDLE? I AM NOT AT ALL GOOD AT THIS CALLING PART AND CANNOT SEEM TO GET ANYONE TO HELP ME AT ALL. I HAVE FEEDERS ALL OVER FOR MY DEER AND TURKEYS AND AM GOING THRU 100LBS A WEEK OF SHELLED CORN EASILY. SHOULD I HUNT THE FIELDS IN FRONT OF THE FEEDERS OR HUNT THE ROAD? I ONCE AGAIN SAY I CANNOT CALL AT ALL OR AT LEAST GET THEM TO RESPOND. ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! I AM NEW TO THIS BUT HAVE HUNTED FOR 25 YRS DEER MAINLY BUT THE ELUSIVE TURKEY HAS ME AMAZED AND I WILL NOT QUIT UNTIL I HAVE MY 12 INCH BEARD ON MY WALL!!!!!! I USE A 3 1/2 INCH 835 MOSSBERG ULTI-MAG AND IT IS THE RIGHT GUN BUT I CANNOT GET THEM TO COME TO ME EVEN WITH BUCKWING DECOYS AND THEY ARE SO CLOSE TO REALITY I SOMETIMES GET TO A POINT I WANNA SHOOT THEM! SINCERE THANKS MIKE4

Welcome to turkey huntin Mike.Let's start from scratch. You have turkey in the area. That's a great start.Startin a month or so before the season, get out to this ares before daylight and listen. The higher the listenin point the better. If you hear gobbles you can narrow things down and concentrate on this area.If you don't hear gobbles try movin a half mile or so the next mornin.Do this until you locate some birds. They should stay in the area come the season. As for callin there are so many calls on the market that make it almost impossable to mess up.A box call is easy to learn and push button calls are very easy to use.Get a call and if you have any questions I'm sure they guys here can and will help you. They are a great bunch of guys with a wealth of knowledge and experience.Feel free to e-mail me also.Good Luck

THANKS ALOT FOR THE INFORMATION JAVA! I HAVE A WATERWIZARD BOX CALL AND A BLACK WIDOW GLASS. I HAVE BEEN IN SO EARLY THE SUN IS NOT UP FOR 2 HRS THEY SEEM TO BE EITHER HENNED UP OR TO MUCH PRESSURE I THINK? THEY GOBBLE IN SPRING TILL 6 AM EASTERN TIME NOT A MINUTE AFTER. I HAVE 3 FLOCKS I THINK AND IN 100 ACRES IT IS LIKE WHERE I GO THEY SEEM TO BE ELSEWHERE IN THE AM. EVEN AFTER I TREE THEM ON THERE ROOST TREES. IN THE FALL NOT A GOBBLE AT ALL THEY ARE TOTALLY QUIET NOT A SOUND BUT A HEN ( BOCK ) EVERY NOW AND THEN. I TOTALLY BELIEVE THAT IT WILL JUST BE A PATIENCE GAME! I JUST SEEM TO GET THE BIRDS THAT ARE OUT OF SEASON TO RESPOND TO MY CALLS BUT STILL I WAIT FOR THAT BIG ONE TO FOLLOW THE 2-6 HENS WALKING BY BUT NO LUCK. EITHER THEY KNOW I AM THERE OR I AM NOT SEEING THEM BEFORE THEY SEE ME BUT I AM TOTALLY 3D LEAFY OUTFITTED AND MY EX-MILITARY EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS AS WELL. I GUESS PATIENCE WILL PAY AND THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING SO MUCH!!!!!!!! MIKE
