RE: Turkey Hunting Tactics?

Probably a little late, but one of the most used tactics in fall hunting is busting a flock, and then calling them back. It is hard to do with one person, because if you run towards a flock screaming like a banshie, they just move together away. If you have 2 people, you can both yell like banshies while charging from both sides that might give you a good break. Once the birds have scattered, set up and wait for things to get back to normal, and begin calling. Yelp like a lot hen or jake, and try to bring them back to you.

The hardest thing is finding the flock - check food sources, watch for scratchings etc. Some states allow dogs - I never have, but I imagine it would make hunting that much more enjoyable. The dog bust the flock, and you set up and wait (the dog needs to be patient and concealed while you call em' in for the kill).
