RE: Turkeys harvested

I'm responsible for more turkeys than I've taken myself but that's the way I like it.

I look at it this way. If they ment something to you then you wouldn't loose count... So I guess the old sayingholds true...

"easy come easy go"

I sure wish I would of gotton exposed to Wild Turkey hunting at a younger age!!!! I didn't get started until I was 29 years old, now I'm 41. So I've missed out on some serious spring turkey hunting:(

I prob could of added at least another 10-15 gobblers to the list if I would of stareted 15 years ago...

Oh well I'll just prey that ifgods willingI got at least another 25-30 springs left in me:D

Bg2 the first is prob my most memberable also even though it was a jake:)

I have been turkey hunting for 3 years and I have gotten 5 birds.

first year got 3 hens in one shot (yes...one shot)!!!

second year got a massive gobbler (1.625 inch spurs, 2 beards: one at 10.25 inches and the other beard at 6.5 inches, weighed 25+ pounds). Taxiderist said it was the biggest one he had ever seen!

third year got a small jake

I've taken 21 in 11 yrs. 17 longbeards and 4 jakes. The last two years I've been filming alot as opposed to shooting. I enjoy going with my friends and relatives and just being a part of their hunts. I've managed to get some awesome film the last few years. Having a close friend there seems to add tothe excitement of the hunt and it sure is fun to get to show other people the hunts as opposed to just telling them about it. Also, by filming I seem to get invited to hunt alot more.:D

RE: Turkeys harvested

I started 4 yrs ago and have taken 1 gobbler each year. Should have had MANY more, but I have blown more opportunities than I care to think about. I've seen turkeys on our landfor the last 20 years, just didn't know how much fun it was to hunt them. I wish someone had shown me the ropes when I was younger. Take a kidhunting. It's a great experience for both and will probably create a hunter for life. Andthat's one more person that won't be suckered in by the lies of anti-gunners and anti-hunters.
