wild white turkeys
HAS ANYBODY EVER SHOT OR SEEN A WHITE TURKEY IN THE WOODS AND DO THEY ACT JUST LIKE A NORMAL GOBBLER
|
RE: wild white turkeys
If it's white with pink eyes/leg and skin, then it's an albino and very, very rare.
Otherwise, it would be a domesticated bird, one that was either released or escaped from captivity. Unless their wings have been clipped (and the feathers have grown back yet), they will act everything like their wild counterparts. Be careful about harvesting "white" wild turkeys...check your state regs and be sure that it's legal. In some states, that's a no-no... |

RE: wild white turkeys
I have a friend that I hunt with every chance we get & he had shot an off-white tom on his sister's land.
I wish had a picture of it to post but he had displayed at Cabela's in Dundee, Mi. It was mostly white with some black in the wings & tail it also sported a 10 " beard with 1- 3/8 spurs and was about 21 pounds he had it mounted in full strut. |
