Western Wi - gave up!
 

After two days in a row of sustained winds above 20mph, frequent rain, and temps in the low 40's, and a forecast of the next two days being as bad or worse, I decided my money could be better spentother than staying at a hotel and eating dinner at restaurants in order to chase non-existant turkeys!

Maybe I'm getting old, this is the first time I didn't hunt every minute of every day of my season. However, it was also the first time that I didn't hear a single turkey sound off anywhere I went (even at daybreak).

I hunt in MN in two weeks. Wish me better luck!

Made the right decision. Weather today - 30's, raining, winds of 17-22mph.

I hunted in the rain and wind on Friday and managed to kill a nice tom.It was the nastiest weather I have ever hunted in.

That was the most miserable 5 days I've ever spent in the woods. Hunted southern Clark, northern Jackson Co. A real test of rain gear. We stuck it out though. On Sat, when it let up a little, they started gobbling.By Sun. AM we were on them.

I killed one of my birds this year in Wisconsin in terrible weather. It was foggy, windy, and rainy. If you can stand the rain, I say hunt it up. I tell myself and others 'The birds aren't going to sit in the tree all day just because it is rainy'. Hunt it up.

Now you have me wondering if pulling the plug was a bad idea! Actually, it was the lack of turkey sign that really made me wonder if I was wasting my time. Combine that with the crappy weather and it seemed like I made the right decision
