Spooked Birds?

I was hunting with a buddy yesterday, and we had a really hot gobbler who was in between us and a hen. The gobbler was trying to make up his mind who he was going to go to, when he disapeared on the other side of a hill. My buddy, who couldnt see the bird, thought he got henned up, so he tried to move and spooked both birds. How long do you think i need to leave these birds alone before i go after them again?

Ive spooked them before and have watched where they went and sometimes try to get ahead of them. If you can get ahead of them, then you can usually work them again...

i've gotten busted by a bird pretty darned good one morning last year..i'm sure every creature in the woods knew that thattom found a human...i left and checked out a newly plowed field for feeding turkeys and an hour later was in the exact same place i was busted and shot that gobbler...
