Default 1st bird of 2006 season down...
This morning at 5:55am, I took my first gobbler of the 2006 season here in NY. Classic hunt all the way, except that two hens came in leading the gobbler, but they never made a single peep??? I was using a brand new box call by Jerry Zebro and the birds sure must of loved the sound of that box!! When he sounded like he was getting closer, I switched to a Knight & Hale mouth call to finish the deal. Bird's stats: 19.6 lbs, 8" beard and 7/8" spurs. I took some pic's and will post em' up, when I get the roll finished. One down, one more to go!!
