RE: Late Season Strategies
When he started gobbling today, I made two sequences of calls, each sequence had 3 calls and the two sequences was 15 minutes apart. I then laid the call down and never made another sound, he came off the roost and strait to me.

I agree, less calling. I've hunted the second week of May several times. I've had no trouble calling birds, but with just a cluck or a yelp or two. Leave the 2-hens-and-a-jake at home. It's been done. Maybe a hen decoy, but then no calling.

Definately let up on the calling a bit from what you would do early season. I called one in friday morning, and had some working two days before but ran out of time. I just let out a series of yelps or 2 every 15 minutes of so. Good luck. The birds have been tough here in Iowa, what part of the state or you hunting?

But for some reason this year i have already missed my third season tag and am currently hunting fourht season. I have been out and on probrobly 30 gobblers just his season but can NOT seem to get them to come in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
