Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Put one to sleep tonight, with any luck I will have him on the ground early. It won't be easy getting setup on him though with the blind without bumping him.........not a lot of room in there on that sidehill unless I get close to his tree. Good luck guys!

Rolled into Punxy at 10:00pm after hunting Ontario. What a slow start the birds were very quiet and trying to run a camera on Game lands are not easy when you got the trollers out walking around. Had someone bust a gobbler this morning that was working silently to us.

Well I guess Monday morning is next....BT

well it was one wierd first day for sure. i did not hear a gobble. i was sitting there saying, they should gobble here soon...... then it was light. so i made 2 soft calls and i hear a flydown, then another. here we go i thought and just like i thought i see black coming to me, then another one then another. they stepped out and 3 jakes. they came 12yrds to me but i let them pass.. didnt hear or see anything the rest of the day. i talked to 2 of my friends that hunted other areas and one said they were gobbleing up a storm. the other said he only heard one on the limb and he gobbled 3 times then shut up. i cant wait for monday.
how did everyone else do???

Only a single gobble this morning and it was waaaaaay off. At about 6:30, the neighbor came tromping through down the property line about 100 yards off heading directly towards where I had that one roosted last night....if he was on the ground down there I knew he got pushed by them so I pulled down the blind and walked the ridge listening for active birds while headed to a nearby field that my dad has seen one strutting in about every other morning for the last week or so. Sure enough, around 9am a jake came into the field..........saw my moving head breeding jake/hen decoy and came right in to us. He put on a good show, but we decided to pass him. He did not even gobble once.......very quiet morning and not many shots within earshot of us. Seems to have been a slow morning around Bradford County despite the beautiful weather. Oh well, I am off to NY's opener on Monday up near Oneonta, NY......hopefully we can break Jaws curse on spring birds.
