Henned up

I hunted last weekend in west central Illinois and the birds were very vocal on the roost then after they pitched they shut up the rest of the day. I have another tag for this upcoming weekend. Could they become less henned up in a week and more vocal throughout the day?

Depends on the amount of available hens. If legal in your state, I would hunt in the afternoon. Most gobblers that get henned up in the morning will lose those hens when they go to their nests. Although you can not hunt them after noon in my state, I have heard a lot of gobbling in the afternoon, especially toward the end of May.
