one for Team 2

Saturday morning opened wet and with lightning cracking all around. I started not to go but then scolded myself for being lazy and off to the woods I went. I eased acrossa pasture and set up on a power line that always holds birds. This is a place always has at least one, and usually four or fivetoms roosted around it along with better than 30 hens.Daywas breaking and the weatherwas getting bad. I wasn'thearing anything. I thought for sure I had wasted my time this morning when a couple of cows in the pasture with mestarting mooing. Not 50 ft. from my setup old tom fired back at them. I gave hima few soft tree yelps, quit calling(a very hard thing for me to do) and waited. Not five minutes laterdown he flies and less than a minute later he's flopping on the ground. Distance was about 20 ft.20lb bird, 10 3/8" beard, 1"spurs.The next time a little bad weather comes thru and I think about staying in bed- I won't.
