ADVICE??

went out scouting first thing this morning with my uncle to where we will be going for the Ohio youth season this coming weekend. well...... the birds must not be hot right now, or it was just today....not much gobbling at all..... heard a total ofmaybe 7 gobblesin about 4 and a half hours.... from only two birds. my question isif by chance i hunt alone/ do my own calling, what types of calls should i try to get the birds fried up?? (clucks, purrs...etc.) thanks in advance..

RE: ADVICE??

try some cutting...and a little of everything. They'll tell you what gets them fired up. Be good on the mouth call if your calling for yourself too. Keeps your hands free to make the shot.

RE: ADVICE??

keep in mind that when you go into the woods take a couple of different kinds of calls with you. box calls, slate calls, mouth calls are always in my vest. theres been a couple of mornings were a mouth call was not getting any reponses and switched to a slate or box got him to respond!! so diffently keep your opions open!!!!!!!!!be patiant !!!! nice mature birds usally dont come running in sometimes it takes a couple hours to get him in!!!!!!!!!
