Which spot should I hunt..
I was scoutinga spot the other day, turkeys was using very heavy.
As I watched this spot after about 20 minutes I heard something behind me. I turned andthere was 2 hens and Ol' Tom 15 ft away. He was stuttin his stuff....... Blood red head, fan tail..... You see, mast didn't hit here very well this past fall. And this is the only ridge where acorns hit in a 10 -15 mile radius. And this spot is only say 100yds x 100yrds. Anyway, this is the spot that I know I canget a chance atthis bird on first day. Problem is, a four wheeler trail goes right through the middle ofit, and I am sure that If I go there first day, I will not be the only hunter there. I found other places where othergobblers were using, but not as a sure thing as this place. So ,what do I do? Do I take a chance and hunt this spot on the first day? Or do I, Hunt the other birds where there is less huntingpressure? Whata ya think? |

Just get up early and go to the spot and site in a spot where if u see a person coming you can tell them to go some where else.

RE: Which spot should I hunt..
If it'salmost a sure thing,I'd try to take full advantage of it on the first day. After that, it will probably be pretty useless. If it's that convenient to get to,the first day or two is your only chance there. Try it, then move to your secondary spots.
