electronic calls

Hey guys I was watching TV the other day and saw that they have an electronic turkey call and I was wondering if anyone has ever used one or heard anything about them. Any info would be great... Thanks

RE: electronic calls

buckmaster - i actually have one...i forget the exact name of it...but it does about 5-6 calls on it...I think a yelp, a gobble, a flydown cackle, a fighting purr, and i think one more. honestly, this is only my 2nd year so i cant really compare the electronic call to a mouth or slate call because i havent called in anything with any type of call lol, so i might not be the best person to ask, But it does seem like a good tool - especially for a beginner who has yet mastered calling on a slate, box, mouth or whatever. You can turn the volume up and down, so i think it might be useful. Only thing is, you cant control how many notes you send out....on a mouth call or box, you can control how many yelps are given, you know what i mean, but on this thing, you just push the button and it does a series of yelps (i forget the exact #), so you better hope it is the right amount to use. All in all, i think they are useful - especially to a beginnger....IMO
