Guess I'll be on my way

I spent a little time today on the board , but as I see my opinions towards some questions are not trusted by others. So I'll go back to reading instead of expressing help.

Sorry if I effended anyone with some of the posts ...

Adrian,
Any thoughts on my last call post?

Hey Adrian, we value your input. Not everyone is going to agree with everyone's opinions, but many of us are here to listen (read)and learn.

I'll try to learn from all opinions since I'm new. I assume noone here is trying to deliberatly mislead anyone. I appreciate any help you can give. That's what message boards are for is to express opinions and offer help where needed. Thanks

Adrian

I invite you to go back to my post in reply to you (in the Drumming/Gobbling thread) and see thatI started it by saying that I "respectfully disagree". I subsequently apologized to you in the thread if my opinion that turkeys aren't easily heard drumming at 100 yards offended you in some way. I frankly don't see how my opinion about the matter should have any bearing on how others view or trust yours. I was under the impression thisis a board wherehunters are welcome tovoice differing opinions and share their experiences, and occasionally disagree about things, as long asthe discussionis conducted in a civil manner and ina spirit of mutual respect. If I am mistaken in that assumption than I stand corrected.

In my short time on the board I have tried to answer a variety of questions from hunters, manynew to the sport, in an effort to help them understand and enjoy turkey hunting. Message boards like this weren't around when I began years ago, and I learned to hunt turkeys from the school of hard knocks andthe lessonslearned frommaking every mistake in the book. If I can help someone avoid some of those mistakes and enjoy some success, then I am glad to do so. I also enjoy learning from others and have gained a great deal of insight since I joined the forum

If there is anything I have learned in hunting his grand bird it is that there is nothing set in stone or reliably predictible about its behavior. For this reason Iwelcome all opinions and experiences about turkey hunting, as I feel that it contributes to my overall knowledge about the sport and, hopefully, that helps make me a better hunter.

Respectfully,

Mouthcaller

Mouthcaller, Maybe I have taken this in the wrong way. I can understand that hunters have different hearing levels and you are correct to terrian could very well change the way hearing could be brought across to a hunter. It is intersting , because I am frequency deaf at a low level. Back ground noise plays a awful job with my hearing , but I don't seem to have a problem hearing the level of the spit and drum as long as there is no noise to intercept the sound.

I'm sorry I maybe over reacted on this. I have a problem with being bashed as soon as I express an opinion and would soon sit to the sidelines.

I kinda feel as if I lied to everyone about this issue and I know I am not misleading anyone with my opinion.

I did have one hunt just not to lang ago in Florida , that I worked a Drumming bird for well over and hour. I could not see this bird what so ever , so he could have been only 50 - 60 yards away , but I could see a good 30 yards in the clear so I knew he was out past that range. It did take that bird over an hour to come in only drumming and I could follow the route he walked with the call he was making. We never did get that bird , but he did come into view some 30 yards away , but on the wrong side of the shooters tree.

You do a good job at helping others as I have seen and read a lot of your posts and I fully appreacate that and I'm sure most do here as well.

I really don't know how to end this , so I will stop. Thanks for clearing it up
