Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Went hunting this past Friday and finally got to work a gobbler. He
was gobbling his head off and had already got on the ground before
I got to him. I set up as close as I could and made a call and he
answered, made another call and nothing, made another call and
nothing. Before I long I seen his red, white and blue head coming
through the brush. He got within 40 yards and I let the hammer down
on him. I got up to him and he had fooled me, it was a jake with a
5 1/2" beard. He gobbled like a full grown tom, unless he was with
a full grown tom that was doing the gobbling and he left him to come
to me but he was the only one I seen. I am not against shooting a
jake but I usually don't shoot one unless it is at the end of the season
here in Arkansas. Oh well, I still have 1 tag left and the season is not
over here untill May 5.
